Italian Cinema Workshop – Part 2
After the success of our last cinema workshop, this second part is intended to present the reality of Italy through different decades and through the eyes of our great film directors.
This short-course is designed for Upper Intermediate and Advanced students of Italian.
The aim of this course is to expand the student’s knowledge of Italian cinema while improving their speaking, reading and listening skills through the participation in discussions based on selected scenes.
By taking part in this course, the students will expand and deepen their knowledge of Italian language and culture. The students will also develop a critical outlook and understanding of popular culture in Italian society by watching extracts and discussing selected movie scenes.
The teachers will use a communicative approach. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) will be practiced, with emphasis on speaking.
Students will also be offered guidance in self-study and be set optional homework tasks.

The Italian Language and Literature Workshop aims to help students to improve the use of their Italian (speaking, writing, listening, reading) while, at the same time, getting closer to Italian literature and its most influential contemporary authors.
The course is particularly recommended to students studying Italian as a foreign language with an intermediate (B.1, B.2, B2) and advanced (C.1, C.2, C2) level, according to the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The lessons offer exercises selected and adapted from original materials (from Pirandello to Elena Ferrante, from Moravia to Niccolò Ammaniti, Umberto Eco, Italo Calvino and Roberto Saviano).
Students will be able to to develop their own Italian style by practising creative writing exercises with the Italian language.
